The Beginning
Howard Park Wines emerged with a vision to create wines that could be cellared for generations. The foundation of this winery was laid by John Wade, an esteemed winemaker who left his prestigious position in Coonawarra, recognizing the immense potential of the nascent Great Southern wine region. Under the Howard Park label, John crafted a Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon that was destined to withstand the test of time. Seven years later, Jeff Burch, a close friend and fellow wine enthusiast, joined forces with John, acquiring essential land parcels, establishing a winery and cellar door, and weaving his family's destiny with the future of Howard Park.
A Three-Decade Search for Fruit Perfection
Howard Park began its journey with a visionary winemaker, a modest shed, and two extraordinary wines that continue to form the core of their range. Over the course of the next 30 years, the Burch family and their team of winemakers and viticulturists embarked on an exhaustive quest to discover exceptional fruit growers in both Margaret River and the Great Southern. Through meticulous exploration, they amassed a wealth of knowledge about various regions, vineyards, blocks, and clones, all in pursuit of the highest quality fruit.
