History of Domaine Follin-Arbelet

Franck Follin-Arbelet, a descendant of the prestigious Aloxe-Corton family, devotes himself wholeheartedly to his craft. Following his geology studies in Montpellier, Franck made the heartfelt decision to return to Burgundy, where he established himself as a prominent winemaker. In 1990, he began his journey with a humble rental parcel in Aloxe-Corton. Over the years, Franck expanded his vineyard holdings, acquiring Premiers Crus in 1993 and subsequently the revered Grands Crus.

Domaine Follin-Arbelet boasts an exceptional selection of appellations that exemplify the finest terroirs found on the renowned CORTON hillside. The portfolio includes the ALOXE-CORTON Village appellation, PERNAND-VERGELESSES 1er Cru "In Caradeux," PERNAND-VERGELESSES 1er Cru "Les Fichots," ALOXE-CORTON 1er Cru "Clos du Chapitre," ALOXE-CORTON 1er Cru "Les Vercots," CORTON Grand Cru, CORTON BRESSANDES Grand Cru, CORTON CHARLEMAGNE Grand Cru, and ROMANEE SAINT VIVANT Grand Cru.

The family property, dating back to 1764, showcases the iconic Burgundian architectural style. Its layout includes accommodation on the upper floors, a store and vat room on the main level, and cellars nestled in the basement. Notably, the cellars, known as some of the village's deepest, offer the ideal environment for the production and aging of exceptional wines. The cool and humid conditions, although occasionally austere for tastings, contribute to the creation of wines with unparalleled character and complexity. Additionally, a well has been dug within the cellars, further enhancing their unique attributes.
