The turning point in the family's history can be traced back to Henri Bourgeois, whose audacious spirit transformed the course of their legacy. In the 1950s, armed with a mere two hectares of vineyards on the hills of Chavignol, Henri Bourgeois devoted himself to his vines in an unknown territory.
It was within these vineyards that the foundation for their exceptional wines was laid, bearing the name of Henri Bourgeois himself. Joined by his sons, Jean-Marie and Rémi, in the 1960s, they continued to expand the family's horizons. Discovering new terroirs, acquiring precious parcels of land, and passionately promoting the reputation of Sancerre both nationally and internationally, the Bourgeois family's adventure continued to flourish.
