The story of Boasso Wines traces back to the post-war era of the 1950s when Giuseppe, having returned from World War II, dedicated himself to managing his ancestral lands. Nestled in the picturesque Piedmont region, the farm flourished with diverse crops such as vines, hazelnuts, fields, meadows, and a modest number of livestock, providing for the needs of the family.
Embracing the vision of growth, Giuseppe ventured into new acquisitions alongside his son Franco. Gradually, they strategically transitioned towards cultivating crops with higher profitability. During the 70s and 80s, the fields and meadows gradually transformed into thriving poplar and hazelnut groves, while livestock rearing was relinquished.
In the mid-1980s, a significant turning point emerged as they decided to craft wine using a portion of their grapes, previously sold to other winemakers. The country house, nestled in the Gabutti area of Serralunga, within the heart of the renowned Barolo geographical indication, underwent gradual renovations. Over the years, the cellar expanded and adapted to meet the demands of the present.
In 2010, the I Grappoli Farmhouse, conveniently located near the cellar, opened its doors to provide warm hospitality to both our cherished customers and the numerous tourists who choose the Langhe region for an idyllic nature-filled holiday.
Today, under the careful stewardship of Franco and his sons Ezio and Claudio, along with their respective families, Boasso Wines manages seven hectares of vineyards and an equal expanse of hazelnut trees. In line with the tradition of the Langhe region, a splendid array of wines is crafted, including Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and the prestigious Barolo. Completing the range are the delightful Roero Arneis and the captivating Moscato d’Asti.
