Their History:
This esteemed winery traces its roots to the enchanting town of Beaurepaire-en-Bresse, located near the wine capital of Beaune in Burgundy (Bourgogne). Renowned for both its wines and the iconic Poulet de Bresse chickens, this region sets the stage for a remarkable story.
Founded in 1998 by Janet & Richard de Beaurepaire, the winery, inspired by their profound French heritage, is a testament to their shared passion for exceptional wines and their dream to craft highly-regarded French styles.
As the winery has flourished, Janet and Richard take pride in welcoming their children, Amanda and Will, into the team. With a wealth of experience, the next generation is playing a vital role in propelling the winery from a couple's passionate endeavor into a thriving multigenerational family affair.
When you visit the cellar door or attend a wine and food event, be sure to say hi – you'll be meeting one of the family members. A warm welcome awaits you from the winery's delightful wine dogs, Scotch & Sascha!
Philosophy:
"We believe great wine is grown in the vineyard, and it all starts with terroir. As a single estate producer, our drive for quality is supported by our focus on terroir-driven cultivation & wine making; and precision viticulture, regenerative practices & sustainability.
Our vineyard site selection was driven by finding a ‘terroir’ similar to our ancestral homeland in Burgundy, which is over 300km from the coast with cool, continental climates, and limestone-enriched, shallow alkaline soils."
