Pio Cesare Barbaresco DOCG 2012
Derived from their family-owned vineyards in Treiso (Il Bricco, San Stefanetto, and Bongiovanni) and in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio (Rocche di Massalupo), this wine has perpetually been a product of their family. The grapes are meticulously sourced from various sites encompassed by the Barbaresco appellation. This embodies the age-old "formula" embraced by the historic Barbaresco families—a technique designed to meld and harmonize the distinctive traits inherent to the diverse vineyards and terroirs within the expanse of the Barbaresco region.
Lamb
Orange peel, mint, sweet red cherry and cranberry give the 2012 much of its lifted, aromatically expressive personality, but the 2012 is far from an easygoing Barbaresco. It packs a serious punch. This is a serious, structured Barbaresco that will improve over the next decade or more, as well as a terrific effort for the year. The 2012 spent 30 months in oak, 70% cask and 30% neutral oak.
