the 2014 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Saint-Georges comes across as a little disjointed on the nose at first. The fruit is darker than its peers: blackberry, a touch of cassis and desiccated orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, the acidity here well judged and lending the finish impressive harmony and cohesion. I would have liked more sustain on the aftertaste, otherwise, this is a fine Nuits-Saint-Georges from Henri Gouges.
