Domaine Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 'La Combe aux Moines' 1er Cru 2015

This is the first wine to display overtly generous wood and it fights somewhat with the fresh and cool aromas of red and dark currants, violet, earth and ample Sauvage character. The dense, serious and well-muscled big-bodied flavours possess good minerality as well as plenty of sappy dry extract before terminating in a very firm and somewhat rustic and austere finale. Again, patience.
