The 2015 Meandro do Vale Meão is a field blend, roughly 40% Touriga Franca, 35% Touriga Nacional and 16% Tinta Roriz (plus, others), aged for 14 months in used French oak. It comes in at 14% alcohol. One of Douro's most reliable bargains, this second wine is usually solid for the price level. This is an elegant, lighter-styled, and very fresh Meandro this year. It has fruit flavour popping up on the finish and moderate tannins. It is a bit disjointed at the moment, but it shows focus to go with its understated demeanour. This could use a year in the cellar, but it is approachable now.
