Château Mont-Redon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Plateau 2016

Awesome notes of crème de cassis, graphite, toasted bread, garrigue, and beautiful minerality give way to a concentrated, full-bodied Châteauneuf Du Pape that shines on all accounts. Le plateau de Mont-Redon is the fruit of reflection and tasting by Pierre Fabre, general manager and winemaker, for 10 years. The plateau is the most beautiful terroir of the estate and represents the jewel and soul of the estate. We do not produce the plateau every year, because this terroir is exceptional when the climate is hot, and dry, with small yields and a good concentration. The grapes come only from the plateau of Mont-Redon, from vines that are between 80 and 100 years old. The wine is vinified normally but is aged separately for a longer period of time so that the wine reveals its personality.
