The Pinot Noir vines in Black Estate's Home vineyard were planted back in 1994, and have been farmed organically and biodynamically since 2010 - finally becoming certified in 2017.
The resulting wine is one that is effortlessly enticing - it's bright and vibrant, with extreme drinkability and seductive elegance.
Nicholas Brown, a winemaker at Black Estate, has a minimalist approach to his wines and this one truly shows that sometimes, less is more. It's a beautiful drop from a very beautiful part of the world.
This has an attractively savoury nose of wild blueberries, peppercorns, earth, and thyme. Medium-bodied with tight-grained tannins and tangy acidity. I like the smoky, ashy energy here. Very persistent. From organically grown grapes. Unfined and unfiltered. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
