Bruno Colin, who is now farming a slightly larger vineyard area thanks to his father Michel splitting the remaining amount of his holdings between Bruno and his brother Philippe (see below), was unexpectedly called away the day of my tasting. I was able to review the entire range of reds and whites though I don't have his insights beyond a few details. These include that the domaine began the harvest on the 24th of August, that yields were down around 10% with a tight range of potential alcohols of 12.7 to 13.2%." It's worth observing that Colin has been on an impressive roll as of late as his 2019s were outstanding and there is much to admire in his range of 2020s as well, particularly at the lower end of his range. If you by chance are not familiar with the wines, you owe it to yourself to amend that oversight! I would remind readers that there is no Demoiselles for the next several years as the vineyard has been replanted.
A ripe, fresh and highly expressive nose also easily reveals its combination of citrus zest, apple, pear and pretty floral nuances. There is more volume and mid-palate density to the medium weight flavors that possess both better depth and excellent persistence on the balanced finale. This well-made effort appears to possess fine development potential and is a wine that will need at least a few years of patience.
