Description

Preserving Heritage in Every Drop:

Nestled in the medieval village of Castagnoli, near Gaiole in Chianti, the heart of the Chianti Classico region, the historic site of L’Antica Fornace (the ancient kiln) tells a tale dating back to the 16th century, when a wealthy Florentine family erected this architectural gem. Changing hands over the centuries, the site found its way to the visionary Loris Cantalici in 1972.

In the late 1990s, brothers Carlo and Daniele embarked on a winemaking journey, cherishing the historic Fornace as they seamlessly integrated it into their estate. Each bottle from this estate is a testament to preserving the rich legacy of L’Antica Fornace, where history and winemaking expertise converge to create a truly exceptional experience.

Exquisite Tasting Journey:

Indulge in the captivating allure of our deep ruby red masterpiece with pronounced garnet reflections. The nose unveils a symphony of aromas, offering a rich olfactory experience layered with hints of luscious berries, ripe plums, and a delightful interplay of spices, sweet tobacco, and velvety chocolate.

Structured to perfection, the wine takes you on a sensorial voyage as it elegantly opens in the mouth. A gentle entrance gives way to a fresh, evolving profile, cradled by ripe tannins. The palate delights in a harmonious blend of fruity nuances, persisting pleasantly and leaving a lingering impression with a captivating return of fruity notes. Savor the essence of sophistication in every sip.

Coffee, dried cranberries, cherries and candied orange slices combined with stones and herbs on the nose, with a palate of more cherry, wild fennel and underbrush. Tannins gripping tightly still and standing up to the brighter fruit on the palate, joined by plenty of acid and heat through a lengthy finish.

The sensory profile of this Chianti Classico is decadent, offering an energy shaped by time in notes of rose petals, faded geraniums, and red plums. Subtle spices in the background enhance its quality. Full-bodied, with soft and velvety tannins in form and a moderately persistent finish. Best from September 2020.

Decisive and well disposed in the glass offering notes of geraniums, red plums, lime blossom and acacia. Medium bodied, slighty rigid tannins of good workmanship and a finale of remarkable persistency. Better from 2023.
