Ceretto Barbaresco is an ecological, barrel-aged red wine made by the Ceretto Italian winery with the Nebbiolo variety in the DOCG Barbaresco (Piedmont).
In 1937 Riccardo Ceretto founded this family winery that has become a leader in Piedmont. They produce a wide range of wines every year from prestigious denominations in the Langhe area, like Barbaresco, Barolo, and Moscato d’Asti. Alessandro Ceretto is now responsible for carrying this legacy, with the aim of fully expressing this majestic terroir.
Ceretto Barbaresco is made by combining fruit from some of the youngest vines in Asili and the lower part of Treiso. A total of 5 hectares are cultivated ecologically (certified) and without using any chemicals that could alter the natural balance of the terroir. Once the grapes are ripe, they are harvested manually.
The Ceretto Barbaresco grapes are taken straight to the winery and fermented with native yeasts under the cap in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about 15 days. This process ends with a maceration of 10-15 days. Finally, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels for 12 months and 12 months in 25 hl barrels.
Ceretto Barbaresco is a typical wine of this Piedmontese denomination that shows its most delicate side without neglecting the variety’s meatiness and power. Elegant Piedmont opulence.
The organic Ceretto 2019 Barbaresco Bernadot shows a broader character and a more open-knit personality compared to the Asili. There is a lot of dark fruit, spice, truffle, and earth to frame the medium build of this elegant wine.
