The Chateau Mazerolles Benoit stands as a luminous and captivating wine, gracefully accentuating the intrinsic quality derived from Bordeaux's northern Cotes de Blaye region.
Crafted with meticulous finesse, the winemaking process involves a meticulous regimen of twice-daily foot treading, gentle pumpovers, and precisely controlled fermentation. This meticulous approach is then followed by a patient aging period of 18 months prior to release, including a maturation phase of approximately 6-9 months within 2-3-year-old oak barrels. While the oak influence is undeniably present, it harmoniously coexists without overpowering, allowing the fruit to command the spotlight.
The rich narrative of Chateau Mazerolles-Benoit finds its genesis in 1856 when the Ardoin family erected the chateau upon a land already adorned with five hectares of flourishing vines.
This exalted area, nestled within the Cotes de Blaye region, had long been hailed for its propitious terroir, culminating in its distinguished classification as a 'Cru Bourgeois'.
The stewardship of the estate rests in the capable hands of Pierre and Beatrice Ardoin, who meticulously oversee the cultivation of 22 hectares of vineyards, predominantly graced by the presence of the Merlot varietal.
