A refined and elegant hand-crafted Merlot dominant blend that represents both the vigneron’s art and an inherent understanding of the land, ensuring ‘Sophia’ is the finest expression of the terroir and the people. ‘Sophia’, meaning ‘wisdom’ in Greek mythology, pays tribute to the goddess of knowledge and experience, information and understanding - a philosophy adopted by our winemakers and viticulturists when crafting this wine.
Rich, plush nose, sweet vanillin oak. Soft ripe plum and berry fruit with milk chocolate and truffle. Enveloping and complex with some early earthy development showing for such a young wine. Baking spice, bayleaf, cocoa, coffee. Very well trimmed palate with mid-weight flavours and good length finishing on noticeably fresh acidity. Smooth tannins provide flow and structure but don't dominate. Approachable and elegant but clearly able to develop in the mid-term
