Entering the exclusive circle of the finest Burgundy wines, the Domaine de la Vougeraie owes its impressive level of excellence to the Boisset family's direction and their decisions since 1999. The estate, named after Vougeot, covers 34 hectares, with two-thirds in the Côte de Nuits and one-third in the Côte de Beaune, producing around 100,000 bottles annually. Pinot Noir accounts for 70%, while Chardonnay comprises 30% of the vineyard.
Situated in Premeaux-Prissey, the estate has wisely chosen to adopt biodynamics in 29 hectares of vineyards, promoting the natural life in the vineyard and resulting in wines of purity. The team combines ancient techniques with modern technology to achieve ultra-precise vinification after drastically reducing yields to harvest ripe, concentrated grapes, often through whole harvests.
Les Brosselles, the estate's first vineyard, holds a special place in the heart of the Domaine as the queen of their hearts. Planted in 1966 on a scrubby terrain, this vineyard is ideally located on the spontaneous and wild part of the village, with east-southeast exposure on limestone soil, making it a dream for wine production.
Glowing lemon yellow. There is a beautiful weight of fruit here over and above the stones, just the right fruit concentration on the palate with this lovely thread of mineral acidity, powerful in a good way, dancing notes on the stones and great length.
