Domain Road Bannockburn Pinot Noir 2019
Domain Road Vineyard, owned by Graeme and Gillian Crosbie, specialises in award-winning cool climate wines. From grapes grown in the heart of Central Otago wine country, they produce Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Rosé, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Pinot Gris wines. Their dedication to excellence combined with a traditional approach means Domain Road Vineyard's wines are now nationally and internationally recognised.
The grapes which produce multi-award winning wines for Domain Road Vineyard grow on the upper Bannockburn terraces, above the Kawarau River. The vineyards are in a high-altitude setting, surrounded by spectacular mountain ranges. The challenging terroir produces wines of structure and elegance, with pure, intense flavours.
Roasted or grilled pork with lighter marinades or dry rub, Charcuterie, ham and other cold meats. Patés and terrines.
Deep garnet in colour, with fragrant aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, and ripe plum mixed with hints of clove, cinnamon, and leather, on the nose.
The palate is rich and concentrated with red berry fruits, dark plums, chocolate, leather, and hints of Christmas spice. A complex concentrated wine with lovely fine-grained tannins, balanced minerality, and a long plum and spice finish.
