Domaine Derey is from a lesser known village in Couchey, a village that is sold under the name of it’s better known neighbor Marsannay. Couchey is located north of Fixin and south of Marsannay. The Derey family has been farming these vineyards since 1850 and remains a true family business to this day. The parents, Pierre and Suzanne, run the estate with their 3 sons Maxime, Romain, and Pierre-Marie. The family uses traditional methods to work the vineyards and gentle techniques that respect the soil.
Crafted with a portion of whole bunches and currently undergoing barrel aging, the wine displays a pleasing color spectrum between crimson and purple, accompanied by a refined depth of quality red fruit aromas.
Exhibiting ample energy on the palate, it offers a luscious red velvet texture alongside vibrant acidity, culminating in a delightful finish.
