Domaine Vacheron is one of Sancerre's elite properties, producing both white and red Sancerre wines of amazing purity and definition. The domaine has been completely transformed over to biodynamic farming with two young cousins, Jean-Laurent and Jean-Dominique Vacheron, at the helm.
For generations, the esteemed Domaine Vacheron has been an indelible presence in Sancerre's winemaking heritage. While stewardship most recently rested in the capable hands of brothers Denis and Jean-Louis Vacheron, a new chapter unfolds as they entrust the reins to the next generation, their cousins, Jean-Dominique and Jean-Laurent Vacheron.
Traditionally, these budding vignerons embarked on separate journeys to broaden their winemaking horizons, a customary rite of passage within family-run domaines. Jean-Laurent ventured to Burgundy, where he honed his craft alongside the legendary Aubert de Villaine, while Jean-Dominique explored the terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is these two visionary cousins who have spearheaded the transformative shift towards biodynamic viticulture at the estate.
Amidst this evolution, Vacheron's 2019 Sancerre Blanc emerges as the epitome of elegance, a wine polished to perfection and steeped in pedigree. Upon lifting the glass, a profusion of Sauvignon Blanc's vibrant aromas and flavors dance forth, an orchestra of citrus, sage, tomato leaf, and subtle white pepper notes that gracefully adorn this taut and exquisitely sculpted Sancerre from the visionary hands of Vacheron.
