Undoubtedly, this stands as one of Tuscany's most prestigious wines. Enchanting notes of juniper berries, licorice, and sweet wood beckon from the glass. As the palate unfolds, a tapestry of spice and earthy aromatic herbs unfurls, creating a sensory journey. Noteworthy for its remarkable texture, the wine bathes the mouth in luscious fruit, culminating in a gratifyingly prolonged finish.
This wine was first produced in 2005, a blend of all the vineyards. So currently the 9ha of Deserti and a small amount of Rennina and Sugarille. Wine making as described above however elevage for this wine is a little different to the other two single site wines. After primary ferment is completed the wine spends the first six months of its life in 2yr or older French oak Tonneau, they use no new oak for any of the wines. After this period the wine is moved to large format Slavonian oak Botti for the remainder of the two years required by the DOCG rules. After this the wine is then moved to concrete for 6-12 months before it is bottled. This wine is the instruction to their Brunello wines, a little fleshier in fruit and softer in tannin and designed to an earlier drinking style and approachable on release.
