Kaesler, a distinguished Australian winery nestled in the heart of the Barossa Valley in South Australia, has been cultivating premium quality, estate-grown Shiraz from old vines for more than two decades. One of the most sought-after products in their collection is the Kaesler The Bogan Shiraz Magnum 1.5L 2018, a rich and full-bodied wine that is a true testament to the winery's commitment to producing exquisite wines.
This wine is presented in a magnum bottle size, which is equivalent to two standard wine bottles. The magnum size has several advantages over smaller bottles. Firstly, it provides a greater surface area of wine in contact with the air, allowing the wine to develop and mature more slowly, resulting in a smoother and more complex flavour profile. Secondly, the larger format bottle makes a statement and is often associated with special occasions, making it an ideal gift or centrepiece for a celebratory event.
In addition to The Bogan Shiraz, Kaesler offers an impressive range of classic Barossa wines, including the Old Bastard, Alte Reben Shiraz, and WOMS, as well as the more affordable Stonehorse collection. The estate boasts several vineyards, covering a total of 37 hectares (92 acres) of vines, with the Home vineyard being the original and most iconic of the vineyards, surrounding the winery itself. With sandy soils and a layer of clay, the Home vineyard is perfect for the vines to thrive in the hot and dry conditions, producing remarkable Shiraz grapes, some of which date back to 1893 and 1899, giving rise to their Old Bastard and Alte Reben Shiraz wines, respectively.
