Les Groseilles is a small Premier Cru climat on the edge of the Côte d'Or escarpment in the Chambolle-Musigny appellation of Burgundy. "Groseilles" means redcurrants in French – an appropriate name for a vineyard that produces perfumed, delicate, red fruit Pinot Noir wines in the very centre of the appellation area.
The 1.3-hectare (3.2 acres) vineyard is located a few hundred meters east of the village of Chambolle, on a gently sloping ancient alluvial fan that once ran out from the Combe Ambin, an incision in the Côte d'Or slope at the exit of which sits the village itself.
This is aromatically similar to the Feusselottes if perhaps just a bit spicier. The generously proportioned, round, and quite seductively textured flavours possess a fine intensity and a sophisticated mouthfeel while exhibiting excellent depth and persistence in the balanced finale.
