Winemaker Owen Latta's take on Syrah rosé is an effortlessly cool and fresh affair, crafted naturally with terroir in mind.
Latta has made this wine with fruit sourced from the famed organic Chapoutier vineyard in the Landsborough valley in the Pyrenees. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed, followed by a natural ferment with wild yeasts. Ten months of lees aging adds texture and longevity.
Bottled unfiltered and unfined, with spice, fruit, and freshness at the forefront.
A beautiful colour here. That ‘eye of partridge’ thing. Big, spicy perfume, scents of dried cranberry, and rose hip tea here. Crackles with energy to taste, very crisp, refreshing, a little squeaky as it finishes, and a little juicy too. Light, red berry fruit characters, a dusting of pepper and alpine herb too. Tangerine zing. Lovely stuff and very good.
