Lindemans Hunter River Burgundy Bin 3100 1965
Lindemans is an important Australian wine name with a long history of pioneering and innovation. The estate was founded in 1843 by Dr. Henry J Lindeman who planted his first vineyard in the Hunter Valley. Over the years, the brand has acquired vineyards in the Hunter Valley, Victoria and South Australia allowing for significant growth and expansion. Now part of the Treasury Wine Estate’s portfolio, Lindemans is best known for its series of highly popular Bin Series commercial wines, however it also produces a range of premium age-worthy wines including the Limestone Ridge Shiraz Cabernet.
Beef, Lamb & Venison
Fully ripe and rich, there are notes of roasted meats, spices, a little chocolate, and coffee grinds. Also hints of licorice and brambly dark fruits. Immaculately seamless and with a very, very long finish.
There is still an extensive tannin structure in place. A muscular, firmly structured wine that has many years ahead of it. Past notes suggest that it plateaued some time ago and seems unlikely to be going anywhere for some time.
