Nestled to the south of the illustrious Volnay and Pommard in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Meursault stands as the preeminent white wine haven in the southern expanse of Côte-d'Or. As one journeys away from the village and heads in the direction of Puligny-Montrachet, the first Premier Cru to grace this path is Meursault "Goutte d'Or." This precious vineyard earns its name, "drop of gold," owing to the generous presence of flint within its distinctive soils.
A very generous and mouth-filling wine with super-ripe mirabelle, the fine tannins and delicate minerality beautifully interwoven into that. Great concentration and not a jot too rich. Very long and graceful finish with a lot of complexity. Drink or hold.
