Marco Lubiana One Terroir Pinot Noir 2022
If the name Lubiana rings a bell that’s because Marco grew up in the vines of Tasmanian-famed winery Stefano Lubiana. His father, Steve, was an early pioneer in the Tasmanian wine scene and certainly one of the first to use biodynamic farming in the unpredictable conditions of the apple isle.
The One Terroir release is not just a single soil type expression set, it is a set of wines that have the complexity and power to cellar long term. They are an investment; they can be drunk young, but their full potential will come with 5+ years of cellaring. They are from only the best soil types on the family Granton estate vineyard at lower yields. Specific barrels are chosen for each cuvee and natural winemaking techniques are pushed further to enhance the full potential of their terroirs.
Venison & Duck
I find with my whole bunch wines that it takes them a few hours to open up, I would recommend decanting. Don't expect it to be cherries and vanilla because it is not, it is a wine for the brain, watch it and sip it over 3 days if you can. Great with food. As it has already had one year in bottle but needs more time. From certified biodynamic vineyards.
