Sydney Royal Wine Show Gilbert Phillips Memorial Perpetual Trophy for Best Red Wine. The Sutton Grange Estate Syrah is the purest expression of the property. 2018 was one of the great seasons we have experienced.
We had a series of favourable events that year – rainfall at the right times, and great flowering and ripening conditions. Coinciding with the 20th year of vines in the ground, 2018 was a lovely chance for us to enjoy the spoils of an established vineyard. The 2018 Estate wines celebrate a benchmark year.
Winning the Sydney equivalent of the Jimmy Watson Trophy! As well as the Dr. Gilbert Phillips Memorial Perpetual Trophy for Best Red Wine, we also took out the trophy for Best Shiraz and the trophy for Best Small Producer.

Fragrant aromas of blue fruits, blackcurrants, and lifted violet florals, with complex hints of dark chocolate and fresh-turned earth.
The palate has flavours of fresh blue fruits with spiced notes of sweet cinnamon and cardamom. The palate is medium-full-bodied, with grainy tannins and a core of gravel driving the mid-palate. The wine has both elegance and strength driven by the fruit definition and granitic tannins.
