Trediberri translates in italiano as the three from Berri (a little hamlet of La Morra, the highest town in Barolo and renowned for wines of elegance and refinement).
This exceptional expression distinctly highlights both elegance and a seamlessly concentrated essence. The Trediberri Barbera d’Alba showcases a texture that is gracefully lightweight, accompanied by a luminous visual allure. The wine presents a refined and succinct interpretation, culminating in remarkable lucidity and unadulterated grape authenticity. Zesty berries and white cherries gracefully transition into subtle notes of delicate spices and herbal undertones, reminiscent of dried mint and basil.
The grapes come from the Roero area and from our vineyards surrounding the hamlet Torriglione, next to the winery. Barbera is the only variety to whom we systematically apply a green harvest, in order to reduce the yields. Alcoholic fermentation happens in concrete and/or stainless steel and lasts around 12-15 days. Then malolactic takes place in concrete and/or stainless steel and cold stabilization happens outdoor or in conditioned steel tanks. After stabilization, the wine ages for some months in concrete, steel and plastic, before being bottled, usually in April-May of the year after the harvest.
The 2021 Barbera d’Alba is an explosion of blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and mocha. A healthy dollop of whole clusters (30%) adds an element of savoriness that takes a little getting used to, as it is not often seen in Barbera. Vinification and aging in cement yields a juicy Barbera in which the fruit is front and center.
