Centenary Collaboration Wine - 2021 Shiraz Pinot Noir Twin Pack
100-Year-Old Vines: Tyrrell’s NVC Shiraz Vineyard & Mount Pleasant Old Hill Pinot Noir Vineyard. This wine is a collaboration between Tyrrell’s and Mount Pleasant to celebrate two of the Hunter Valley’s most historic vineyards.
Tyrrell’s NVC Shiraz and Mount Pleasant’s Old Hill Pinot Noir were both planted in 1921, and these vineyards share a history of being blended together in the era of Dan Tyrrell and Maurice O’Shea in the mid-1900s. These ancient vineyards are among the foundational sites that created the time-honoured style known as ‘Hunter River Burgundy’, championed by Maurice O’Shea.
The wines from these two vineyards were vinified and matured at each winery before blending at Mount Pleasant in January 2022, honouring the tradition of these two estates. The resulting wine is an homage to the light dry red style synonymous with that era.
Available only in a twin pack, boxed in a limited edition co-branded burnished timber box.
