Much like the other esteemed wines in their collection, the winemaking approach is straightforward, employing submerged cap fermentations that typically extend for 30 to 35 days (though, in 2019, these times were adjusted due to the vintage's unique character, discouraging prolonged maceration). Serralunga d'Alba, known for its intrinsic power and opulence, imparts a captivating array of aromas, including notes of dried tobacco leaf, fragrant tea, crushed rose petals, and hints of iron ore, all contributing to an exceptionally expressive bouquet.
Lamb
The nose is alluring and profound. Notes of hay, cut grass, tobacco, white pepper and wild mint emerge.
On the palate, it is robust and potent, with a taut, mineral finish. As is typical of Serralunga, the tannins are stark, sharp and very profound. The sweet persistence of the finish is delightful.
