Jordyn’s journey to this esteemed position is a testament to her commitment to personal and professional growth. After moving to Brisbane in 2015 to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in International Hotel and Tourism Management at the University of Queensland, she quickly made her mark in the hospitality industry. With over 12 years of experience, including key roles in five-star hotels, she was part of the pre-opening team at Emporium Hotels South Bank, where she held various roles in the food and beverage department.

At The Reserve Cellar, Jordyn’s role is both challenging and rewarding. “It can be very chaotic on the daily managing all the different overarching areas of the business, but I wouldn’t have it any other way,” she says. Her ability to connect with guests and make a meaningful impact on their experiences is what drives her every day.

A Glimpse into Jordyn’s Wine Preferences

When it comes to wine, Jordyn’s knowledge and taste are as refined as her professional skills. Here’s a quick dive into her wine preferences through a recent Q&A:

Describe your perfect wine and food pairing: “This can be very circumstantial, but immediately I think of Champagne and Oysters (a little basic) or Chardonnay and seafood. Specifically, the lobster raviolo Chef Luca here cooks for me 😜.”

What’s your go-to wine for a casual night in? “I'm picturing a night in during winter right now, and I am grabbing a Pinot Noir, specifically cool climate, probably from Tassie.”

What is a wine variety you tell all your friends about? “Chardonnay is back!! Specifically loving Chablis. I've been on this bandwagon for a few years now and desperately trying to convert my friends over from Sauvignon Blanc.”

If you could create your own wine label, what would it be called and why? “Ooooofft, this is a tough one—how to not sound lame! Depends on the region as that would play a part, but a few years ago I remember seeing this wine name generator, and I got Château Deamer or In Your Dreams—playful, yet sophisticated, offering wines that inspire imagination and enchantment.”

If you could share a glass of wine with one person throughout history, who would it be and why? “Great question, what a fun challenge—there are a few too many! I think I would choose Cleopatra for a wine date, due to her unparalleled blend of intelligence, charisma, and historical significance. And let’s be real, a little drama meets history.”

Jordyn Deamer’s journey, expertise, and passion for wine continue to shape The Reserve Cellar into the renowned establishment it is today. Whether she’s managing the chaos of the daily operations or enjoying a glass of Chardonnay, Jordyn is a true leader in her field, bringing innovation and excellence to every aspect of her work.
