The 2017 Escolha was aged in used French oak for six months and comes in at 12% alcohol. Dry (less than 1.5 grams of residual sugar versus 6.6 of total acidity, a decline from the 2016), this always handles its oak well. Textured, lively and fresh, this has good concentration, too. It's not the most intense year for this bottling, but its fine mouthfeel and roundness still make it seem impressive.
