An Outstanding Champagne from the Superb 2008 vintage that’s a ménage of richness and refinement.
A blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay that has been aged for 4 years in Louis Roederer’s cellars. Opens impressively with a creamy white mousse that shows excellent hold. Pale straw base wine colour with an exceptionally fine and very profuse bead. A classic Champagne sniff showing both sophistication and fabulous aromatic intensity with aromas of yeast lees and freshly baked bread to the fore followed by some delicate citrus notes, oily toast-like characters, cashew and brioche. Reflective of the nose the palate is a ménage of richness and refinement delivering a complex flavour profile of yeast lees and baked bread intermixed with traces of citrus and pear overlaid by toasty brioche-like characters. Outstanding length. Clean dry finish with a creamy texture. Finishes with a long conclusion of yeast lees, baked bread, faint pear, toasty brioche and subtle oily cashews.
