Experience the exceptional 2015 vintage, a year that holds special significance as it coincides with the Champagne region's prestigious recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2015, following the decade's continental trend, we witnessed a mild, wet winter followed by a hot, dry summer, marked by record-breaking temperatures and water stress. Fortunately, the vines received a welcome respite with a refreshing rain shower in the latter half of August, resulting in the production of luscious, ripe, and intensely concentrated grapes. Our aspiration for this vintage? To capture and celebrate the hallmark concentration of this spectacular year!
At Champagne Louis Roederer, where the legacy of excellence has thrived since its founding in 1776, we remain one of the rare family Champagne businesses. For over two centuries, six successive generations have been dedicated to upholding our unwavering commitment to quality. Frederic Rouzaud, who assumed leadership in early 2006, following in the footsteps of his father Jean-Claude Rouzaud, who continues to serve as Chairman of the Board. Jean-Claude, the grandson of Madame Camille Olry-Roederer and a trained oenologist, led the company for 38 years, earning the well-deserved title of the 'Sage' of Champagne, the wise man of Champagne.
Frederic Rouzaud has spent the past decade working alongside his father, gaining invaluable experience in all aspects of production and business. He brings a wealth of business acumen and academic knowledge to the company. What sets Louis Roederer apart in Champagne is our ownership of two-thirds of the vineyards for our total production, encompassing the Pinot Noir subregions of "Montagne de Reims" and "Vallee de la Marne," along with Chardonnay from the "Cotes des Blanc." With recent acquisitions, our vineyard holdings have grown to nearly 190 hectares by 1995, achieving an impressive 97.5% on the official classification scale.
