The 2015 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Caillerets is excellent, wafting from the glass with a youthfully reserved bouquet of white flowers, lemon oil, struck match and wet stones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, tensile and complete, with excellent depth at the core, terrific purity, and a chalky grip on the long, beautifully balanced and searingly intense finish. This is still somewhat withdrawn after its April 2017 bottling, but it has all the elements for greatness with some bottle age.
