As one of the undisputed titans of Barolo, Aldo Conterno had a life and career as storied and revered as anyone in wine. The second son of Barolo's most legendary icon, Giacomo Conterno, excellence was always a part of his DNA, but Aldo also was the rare sort who forged his path to greatness independent of the reputation of his forebears. Soon after starting his own estate in 1961, Aldo put his stamp on the region and quickly gained fame as a rising talent. Ever since then, his wines have been held in the highest esteem among Barolo collectors of all stripes, from the most cutting-edge modernists to the staunch classicists. The bottling is a blend of vineyards from this famed spot in Montforte d'Alba.
