A deft application of wood serves as a neutral but not imperceptible backdrop for the exotic and lemon-suffused aromas of pear, apple and iodine. There is fine volume and outstanding richness to the dense, muscular and powerful large-scaled flavours that terminate in an agreeably dry, sappy and beautifully long finish. This is a classic Valmur-controlled power that is clearly built for mid to even longer-term cellaring.
