With this particular blend, we aspire to find the perfect harmony among the 3 grapes, respecting the nuances of every vintage. Hand-picked selection of the grapes and the result of an accurate vinification process. Cold maceration for 48 hours, fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel, daily pumping over, and gentle pressing. Aging of 18 months in oak barrels and further refinement in bottle before being presented on the market.
The name of the wine recalls the gravel, in particular the small pebbles that cover the country roads, also used to drain the vineyards. The name underlines the strong link with the territory as the first wine made under Filippo Rocchi’s direction.
Very vivid aromas of blackberries and currants with hints of violets, following through to a full body, dusty tannins, and a rich and flavorful finish. Just the right amount of hazelnuts and walnuts in the aftertaste. Needs two or three years to come together.
