Craggy Range Te Muna Road Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Established in 1998, Craggy Range is a family owned winery producing a collection of iconic wines from grapes grown on exceptional sites in Hawke’s Bay and Martinborough, New Zealand. From the stony, warm soils of the Gimblett Gravels vineyard in Hawke’s Bay to the volcanic, clay soils of the Te Muna Road vineyard in Martinborough, these revered vineyards produce profound wines of great longevity, purity and complexity.
Grown on the lower terrace at Te Muna Road, this wine shows a unique level of texture and complexity. The cooler climate of Martinborough ensures the wine is aromatic with steely minerality while the rocky soils gives intensity of the fruit.
A warm, dry season moderated by cool nights allowed for gradual and unhindered ripening of fruit. A great year. 10% hand harvested. 10% whole bunch, 90% destemmed fruit. Stainless steel tanks, French oak barriques and puncheons.
Fresh oysters, shellfish, goat cheese, grilled white fish and Asian cuisine.
The aromas follow through to the palate, which is met with crisp acidity. The wine is harmonised by the stoney minerality, subtle salinity, and chalky texture that the old river stones of our vineyards provide.
Elegant aromas of white peach, lemon, blossoms, fresh-cut herbs, and passionfruit.
