A richer and more harmonious red compared to the Fixins, this wine unveils a velvety, supple texture that exudes undeniable allure. Sourced from Craite Paille below La Justice, it boasts a fruit profile accentuated by luscious notes of ripe strawberries, characteristic of this esteemed corner of Gevrey. Notably, the tannins here are gracefully understated, balanced by a refreshing touch of acidity that ensures a truly satisfying experience.
This comes from Craite-Paille - quite sandy soils at the bottom of the village by La Justice. Not the best Gevrey terroir, but has the advantage that the wines are accessible young. Fresh and delicate - it's not a wine with huge depth, but it is very Gevrey in its black fruit expression and harmony. Good length too.
More prominent crushed leaf characters are present on the red berry and earth-suffused nose. The palate impression of the lighter weight flavors seems somewhat evolved while there is noticeable bitterness on the somewhat short finish. An odd showing.
