This is the purest, most energetic expression of Nebbiolo from the great Vaira family in Barolo.
The fruit is hand-picked from the younger vines on their estate holdings across Barolo, Novello, Sinio and Bricco Bertone, ranging from 7-25 years of age. The grapes are picked in the wee hours of the morning to keep them cool and maintain as many of the wonderfully fresh aromatics as possible through the winemaking process.
Every berry is handled gently, the goal to make a drinkable, expressive red that represents both region and variety truly.
Giuseppe has nailed this release - it's excellent drinking now and will continue develop beautifully in bottle over the mid-term.
Pairs well with rich, savory, and fatty foods, such as beef, pork, and certain cheeses. Its firm tannins and bright acidity make it a good match for dishes like mushroom risotto, hearty stews, and roasted vegetables.
The wine is bright ruby red in colour with intense notes of violet and rose.
Accompanied by the freshness of ripe red berry fruits on the nose. This is an elegant Nebbiolo with herbaceous notes and perfumes of roses and red berries complemented by silky tannins and delicate acidity.
