Description

The 2017 Ossa is a remarkable vintage for Tasmania, boasting an abundance of intense flavors, lush aromatics, and a delightful acidity that captivates the senses. It embodies the essence of classic Tasmanian sparkling wine - a symphony of flavors that span a wide spectrum, adorned with textured notes reminiscent of pith, and an invigorating freshness that leaves the palate yearning for more.

This sparkling gem offers a medley of citrus delights - from the zesty kick of lemons, both fresh and preserved, to the sweet allure of mandarins, the fragrant dance of orange blossoms, and the vibrant burst of grapefruit. Subtle undertones of thyme and pastry add depth and complexity to this sensory journey.

With a tangy and pithy character, the preserved citrus element takes center stage on the palate, accompanied by a subtle hint of salt. Despite its intense profile, the Ossa manages to maintain a graceful composure. It exudes an effortless sense of balance that is the hallmark of all Ossa wines.

What sets the Ossa apart is its innate drinkability - a refreshingly delightful, medium-weight profile that piques the interest of the discerning wine enthusiast. It possesses both flavor and power, yet it treats the palate gently, asserting its grip without the overwhelming intensity often associated with Champagne. In essence, the Ossa is a testament to finesse and gourmet indulgence.

Allow us to introduce Ossa wine—a refined blend of 71% Pinot Noir and 29% Chardonnay, meticulously crafted in the illustrious tradition of the Méthode Traditionnelle. This sparkling masterpiece embodies the pinnacle of classical winemaking techniques and philosophies, offering a true connoisseur's experience.

It's important to note that only an incredibly limited quantity of 35 dozen bottles have been produced, making this wine a rare and cherished gem for those fortunate enough to savor its excellence.

Review

71/29% pinot noir/chardonnay. Pale straw with a bright, fine persistent bead. Aromas of lemon, green apple, grapefruit and white peach with hints of soft spice, citrus zest, white flowers, brioche and crushed stone. It's generous and expressive with a gorgeous lemony twang to the acid line and a finish that slowly fades with tones of softly spiced apple, Meyer lemon and nougat.
