Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, often known simply as PYCM, is the husband and wife team of Pierre-Yves Colin and Caroline Morey - a meeting of families steeped in burgundian tradition.
Pierre-Yves is the eldest son of the Marc Colin, where he worked until 2005 - he established his own negociant business and domaine from family vineyards he inherited. His star has been rising ever since, making electric wines from parcels across Saint Aubin, Puligny, Meursault, Corton and his home commune of Chassagne.
He wines are pure and driven, with no batonnage (lees-stirring), only natural yeasts, and no fining or filtering. The corks are extra-long and bottles wax-sealed to avoid any possibility of premature oxidation. He builds white wines for the long haul.
A mix of Domaine and purchased fruit. Tasted after Caroline Morey’s wines, the extra depth of colour stood out. Plumper but not quite dense even so, with some lemon notes, a little youthful bitterness, good length, and soundly made.
