Soul Growers stands for everything that is great about the Barossa; shared wisdom, new ideas, mateship, and a passion for making and enjoying great wine. It was born out of a friendship of three dedicated souls who saw the opportunity to join forces and chase their dream of creating wines and a brand that reflected their view of the Barossa.
The blending of noble varieties to us has always and will continue to offer great potential for complexity and depth of characters. Like blending and matching food the very essence of finding the ideal varietals and blending the right percentage of each variety based on the vintage year brings style and consistency. Integration of these individual varietal aspects offers flavour profiles not found by the use of a single variety. The Soul of Blending.
This is what a great GSM looks like. It's not about the points but more about the pleasure and the delish factor it delivers. This Soul Growers absolutely smashes the brief. Need a reliable red to fall back on? Look no further.
Each variety contributes and sings as they work in absolute unison. Juicy raspberries and baked raspberries burst from the glass. Chocolate, rubs of earth and soft spices deliver handfuls of pleasure. It's a wine with some generosity but it isn't overbearing. A few more swirls show some Cherry Ripe appeal. That shimmer of earthiness with some clove and pan juices adds elegance and moreishness. It's a pool of happiness and I just want to dive in and not get out. Yes!
