Introducing Yarra Yering Block No. 1 Reserve: a testament to heritage, meticulous craftsmanship, and the artistry of winemaking. From the historic roots of our Cabernet vines, first planted in 1969, to the nuanced blend of Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, each element of this wine embodies our dedication to excellence.

Hand-harvested and meticulously sorted, only the finest berries earn their place in this exceptional blend. Our Cabernet grapes undergo individual berry sorting, enhancing the wine's structure with each crush. Meanwhile, the Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot undergo whole berry fermentation, imbuing the wine with a fragrant bouquet and luxurious palate weight.

Crafted with care, our wine is fermented in half-tonne fermenters and hand-plunged twice daily, ensuring optimal extraction of flavors and tannins. A portion of our Cabernet component matures in a brand-new 3500L upright oak cask, spending eight weeks on skins to develop complexity and savory notes. All varietals mature gracefully in French oak, with 40% new oak infusion, culminating in a harmonious blend after 15 months of barrel maturation.

The result is a wine of unparalleled character and depth. Bursting with blackberry fruits and underscored by a rustic iodine essence, hints of bay leaf add a subtle herbal lift.
