Yarra Yering is one of the oldest and most beautiful vineyards in Victoria’s Yarra Valley with 28 hectares of vines located at the foot of the Warramate Hills. Established in 1969 by Dr Bailey Carrodus, Yarra Yering quickly gained an international reputation for quality and individuality and paved the way for other Yarra Valley wineries.
Both Semillon and Chardonnay were hand harvested, chilled in a cool rom overnight and whole bunch pressed. This gives us the finest juice with minimal phenolics or grip. Fermentation in old oak barrels lending weight and texture.
A white blend of 75% Semillon and 25% Chardonnay.
The Semillon contributes notes of white pear and grapefruit, while the Chardonnay adds stone fruit richness and enhanced mid-palate weight, along with a softness from aging in neutral oak barrels.
White pear flesh and grapefruit citrus characteristics derived from the Semillon, complimented by a granny smith green apple tang driving the acidity with a lovely chalky texture to finish.
