Domaine La Pousse D'Or Clos Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru 2009

A restrained and almost mute nose grudgingly offers up notes of plum, earth and violets that precede the rich, concentrated and powerful big-bodied flavours that are blessed with an abundance of dry extract that helps to push the extremely firm but not hard or aggressive tannins to the background on the explosive and hugely long finish. This is an impressive effort as the balance is Zen-like.
