This is aromatically riper than the Clos St. Jean though here too there is a trace of herbal tea character on the more deeply pitched nose of pepper and dark currant scents. There is a bit more volume to the round and nicely textured medium-weight flavours that offer reasonably good depth before culminating in an ever-so-slightly tangy finale. This is on the strict side at present and should benefit from a few years of bottle age first.
