The 2016 Tinto is a roughly equal blend of old vines, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, plus 20% Tinta Roriz and 5% Sousão, all aged for 15 months in well-used French barriques. It comes in at 13.5% alcohol. Showing good fruit and better structure, this is aromatic and flavorful as it airs out. It is a bit tight just now, showing some tannic pop. It is also enticingly fresh, with a good acidity cutting the fruit. When this opens up—it won't take long, and even a few months will help—it should be a very nice regular Tinto.
